BOSS paints makes every effort to protect your privacy. During your contact with BOSS paints, you may share personal information with us that allows us to identify you as an individual, such as your full name, email address, address or telephone number. These are your "personal data".

This Privacy Statement applies to the personal data we collect about you for the purpose of offering you our products and services. By using the site or by providing us with your personal data when using our services, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Statement.

The processing of personal data within BOSS paints is subject to Belgian law. The Belgian authorities and its courts, to the exclusion of all others, are competent to take cognisance of any disputes that may arise with regard to this website or its use or with regard to the processing of personal data. For the processing of personal data, this is the 'Belgian Data Protection Authority'.

 

Processing of personal data

BOSS paints collects, registers and processes personal data of customers and users of our services provided through our franchisees, for example. Data are communicated, for example, by individuals themselves when they make contact, when they purchase a product or when they draw up a project. This is a non-exhaustive list.

Other data are collected automatically by 'cookies' and other systems/applications that collect information. More information can be found in the Cookie Policy.

Personal data is always processed in compliance with the principles of the privacy legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) or GDPR. Personal data is processed in a lawful, proper and transparent manner and for a specified and explicit purpose. The data processing is limited to what is necessary and the retention period of the personal data is limited to as long as necessary in relation to the realisation of the purposes of the processing. Personal data are secured in an appropriate manner by means of suitable technical and organisational measures. Colora processes your personal data for the following purposes, among others:

  • Sending you our newsletter and/or advertising brochure
  • To be able to contact you if this is necessary in order to carry out our services;
  • For the further implementation of agreements;
  • To inform you about changes to our services and products;
  • To deliver goods and services to you;
  • To handle your payment;
  • To fulfil legal obligations;
  • When the legitimate interest of the company requires it - the purpose of the processing will be made clear by the act itself.

The data communicated, either explicitly or by automated means, will be included and processed in the Colora database.

BOSS paints will only transmit personal data to processors, public authorities or affiliated companies if this is necessary for the fulfilment of our contract with you or to comply with a legal obligation, the public interest or when the legitimate interest of the company requires it and this is compatible with the purpose of the processing and is done in a proportionate manner.

We conclude an agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf in order to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.

 

Rights of the person concerned

If you wish to consult, modify, transfer, limit or delete your data, you can do so by sending an e-mail free of charge, provided that you provide proof in the form of a copy of your identity card, to e-mailadresavg@boss.be. In the same way, you can also object to the processing of personal data or terminate communication. The data will be adjusted or removed as far as possible and as far as the technical possibilities allow. Your request will be dealt with as quickly as possible and within the prescribed deadlines. Your request will be fulfilled as far as possible, except if this turns out to be impossible due to the interest of the company or a legal obligation.

In the event of a data breach that threatens your rights and your protection of personal data and therefore constitutes a high risk, the supervisory authority will be notified and you as the person concerned will be informed in accordance with the Regulation.

BOSS paints takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. Regarding minors

Our website and/or service is not intended to collect information about website visitors who are under 16 years of age, unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether a website visitor is over 16 years of age. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent data being collected on children without parental permission. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data on a minor without such consent, please contact us at avg@boss.be and we will delete this information.

 

Correctness of your data

Deleting cookies

Delete cookies in Chrome:

Click on the icon with 3 lines at the top right. Click on Tools > Delete browsing data. Make sure that 'Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data' is checked. You can also specify how old the cookies should be. Choose 'All' here.

Delete cookies in Internet Explorer:

Go to the Tools > Internet Options > General menu. Under Browse history, click Delete. You may not want to delete everything. Make sure that at least Cookies is checked and click on Delete.

Delete cookies in Firefox:

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy. Click on Clear your recent history. Under Details you can select what you want to delete. Be sure to check Cookies. You can also specify how old the cookies should be. Choose 'All' here.
